Upgraded to Sierra which forced an iMovie update. Now iMovie

Customer Question

Upgraded to Sierra which forced an iMovie update. Now iMovie will not load. I have followed the suggestion about dumping the plist file to no avail. iMovie loads, says it is validating the library and at the conclusion of that process it crashes. Any ideas?
JA: What OS X (Operating System, e.g. Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite, etc.) or iOS are you runninng?
Customer: Sierra as of three days ago.
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: There are none to install. The update to iMovie came with the Sierra update.
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: Multiple reboots and your suggestion to scratch the preferences file.
JA: Anything else you want the Mac expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: Nope.

What version of iMovie are you running?

Customer: replied 9 months ago.
Thanks for getting back so quickly. I spent the day on the phone with Apple. Bot***** *****ne is that the existing iMovie library was corrupted. The latest version would not use it. A new user was created. The data files were all moved. The latest version of Sierra is now running latest version of iMovie and long standing O/S problem was also fixed. I did not know Apple would provide such service when I contacted you. Thanks for being there. You can close this call.
