If you have FCP you can try the following workaround:

Press Command+E to Share as a Master File (default) from FCP, then drop the resulting file into Compressor. Set up your encoding as normal and Submit Batch.

i don't have FCP ... other ideas?

Let me look into.

Expert:  Kris R replied 8 months ago.

Take the video you've downloaded or the video you've uploaded from your device, open it first in QuickTime movie player, click "file" and then click "export" to desktop. Start a new project on iMovie to test the iMovie exporting works now, Import this exported video to your iMovie project and as usual click "Share" then to "file"

The bad news: iMovie will recognise your project currently as corrupted so you will have to start a new project but I guarantee you this will work

im 100% positive this will work.
