HI, recently upgraded both iMac and MacBi
JA: How much experience do you have with this particular machine?
Customer: both iMac and MacBook upgraded to Sierra OS. Since then, my Skype app cannot connect to anyone. Connection starts and after 10 sec drops out. Cannot hear anyone, they do hear me. Skype on iPhone and iPad is working just fine. any clues? thank you, Miro
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: yes. all updated to latest versions
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: uninstall / reinstall Skype app
JA: Anything else you want the Mac expert to know before I connect you?

There is some ongoing issue with Skype in Sierra OS. Skype has not yet found the fix for this compatibility issue.

If you want, I can look for the workaround for it.

You can use web version of skype till the issue gets resolved. May be in skype's next update they will be able to resolve the issue with skype application. Till then you can use this link from your mac:-

when using web version (chrome), first it asks me to install plugin "Skype Calling"
when attempting to make a call, it just beeps (as is it is going to start to connect, but nothing happens...I even cannot hang out, need to close the webpage.

I checked the compatibility of it. Everything seems to be okay. I would suggest you to use some other browser and see if you are able to make a call.
