How do I make sure my iMac operating is current? Mine is OS X, I believe.

In the upper left corner, you should see the Apple icon. If you click on that, it should bring up your Apple menu.

In the menu, you should see where it says About This Mac. If you click on that, it will launch a screen that will have your Mac version. The latest version is 10.12 Sierra.

If you want to see what software updates are available then you should see a Software Update option in the Apple menu as well. Or you can access your updates by going into the App Store and then clicking on the Updates button at the top.
