I am trying to install a new version of Adobe but it asks

I am trying to install a new version of Adobe but it asks for my administrators username and password. I have entered the exact sign on info that I use but it will not accept it. How can I find the correct username and password?
JA: How much experience do you have with this particular machine?
Customer: I have owned it for about 5 years now.
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: No
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: I have asked this question and found answers but none that will help me retrieve the correct info.
