Resetting the preferences of the Photoshop Elements Editor can be a good thing to do if the Editor isn’t quite working right or behaving out of sorts.

Method 1: Use General Preferences Dialog.

If the Editor is able to be started successfully, you can easily reset the Preferences from within the General Preferences dialog.

If the issue is still not resolved:

Re-create the Elements Organizer preferences file.

Re-create the Adobe application preferences file to eliminate problems that a damaged preferences file can cause.

  • Navigate to the Elements Organizer settings folder:

  1. Win Vista/7/8: C:\Users\[User Name]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Elements Organizer\[Version]\Organizer\
  2. Rename psa.prf to psa.old.

  3. Retry launching Elements Organizer
