i have a new i pad and when i try to connect to itunes, i am getting a message that an invalid response is received from the device.
JA: What OS X (Operating System, e.g. Sierra, El Capitan, Yosemite, etc.) or iOS are you runninng?
Customer: os x 10.6.8
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: it says no updates available
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: i reset ipad, checked wifi connections on mac and ipad.
JA: Anything else you want the Mac expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: im clueless?

If you are running iOS 10 on your iPad you have to upgrade your computer to the latest operating system to work with it. Can you give me the serial number of the Mac?

I can remote connect and do this for you if you wish. You have to upgrade to Mavericks (10.9) at least to get iTunes 12.5 or higher. Let me know.
