I was using google chrome and stupidly installed online mapfinder on my MacBook Air. I di not know how to remove this? Can you help please? John
JA: Just to clarify, how old is your MacBook Air and what operating system are you running?
Customer: It is about 4 to 5 years old. Operating system is OS X El Capitan
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: Not that I recall

That mapfinder is like a malware. In Chrome, click on Chrome menu and select Preferences.

From the resulting window, click Extensions in left column. Cick the Delete button next to the onlinemapfinder and it will be deleted. Then click on Settings in left column, under On Startup, select Open a Specific page or set of pages, click Set Pages and set or or any page you want.

Once you did that, download this Malware removal tool -->

Open the downloaded file and then do a scan with it. It will find and remove all malware including that map finder.
