When I input my usb in my Mac, it says that it's not

Customer Question

When I input my usb in my Mac, it says that it's not readable
JA: How much experience do you have with this particular machine?
Customer: With my Mac? Some experience
JA: Have you installed any updates recently?
Customer: I haven't. I used the usb yesterday on an older Mac and when I tried to use it on a new Mac and even Windows computer it didn't work
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: I was reading about partitioning but was afraid because I'm not sure what it does. Along with looking at Apple x soft recovery - again not sure which product to use
JA: Anything else you want the Mac expert to know before I connect you?
Customer: I think that's all
