When I search using Spotlight then open a folder the window that opens is either black, or it has whatever is behind it in the window.
JA: How long has this been going on?
Customer: I open files within it, but I cannot see what they are.
JA: What troubleshooting have you tried?
Customer: It just started tonight. I haven't used the computer for a few weeks then used it yesterday and today.
JA: Just to clarify, what's the make and model of your machine, and what operating system are you running?
Customer: I have relaunched the Finder, verified the disk, and restarted the computer.
JA: The Mac expert can solve this for you. Anything else you want him to know before I connect you two?

please test for this issue in Safe Boot mode:

Restart your Mac

As soon as you hear the Startup chime, press and hold the SHIFT key

Continue to hold the Shift key until you see the Apple logo and progress indicator.

Then, let go of the Shift key and let it boot to the Desktop (it may take longer than usual so please be patient).

Now see if the issue still occurs. Next, restart the Mac normally and let me know the results.
