okay the download takes awhile to finish. It is 1.6gb. Give it a while to finish and see if the ipad will restore.

Follow these steps please>

  • Disconnect the USB cable from the iPad, but leave the other end of the cable connected from your computer's USB port.
  • press and hold the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons at the same time.
  • When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake and Home buttons.
  • While pressing and holding the Home button, connect the USB cable to the iPad. The device should turn on.
  • Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
  • When this screen appears you can release the Home button:
  • Then use iTunes to restore the iPhone.

okay, try this next.

disconnect the iPad and hold the home button and power button down for 30 seconds, then allow the iPad to reboot. Then let me know what is on the screen.

okay, the best option will be to uninstall iTunes from your computer and then download and install again.

Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order:

  1. iTunes
  2. Apple Software Update
  3. Apple Mobile Device Support
  4. Bonjour
  5. Apple Application Support 32-bit
  6. Apple Application Support 64-bit

On some systems, iTunes might install two versions of Apple Application Support. This is expected. If both are present, be sure to uninstall both versions.

okay, disable the security for 15 minutes and then download. You can usually click on the icon in the system tray and get the disable option.

okay, click on the menu of your internet browser at the top right, it should be 3 horizontal lines. Then click on new window, then go to itunes.com and try the download.

It looks like the issue of installing iTunes and the error 3194 when resdtoring the device are linked.

You can see one of the possibilities is that security software gives that error message.
Try disabling any security software, and try again to update iTunes and restore the device.

I got it reinstall just can't get it to restore my iPad it starts then 15 minutes in it kicks out

There is a thing called Recovery Mode. You should try restoring it in Recovery mode.

You should turn off any security software too while trying these steps.

  1. Connect your device to your computer and open iTunes. If you don't have a computer, borrow one from a friend or go to an Apple Retail Store or Apple Authorized Service Provider for help.
  2. While your device is connected, force restart it: Press and hold both the Sleep/Wake and Home button for at least 10 seconds, and don't release when you see the Apple logo. Keep holding until you see the recovery mode screen.
  3. When you see the option to Restore or Update, choose Update. iTunes will try to reinstall iOS without erasing your data. Wait while iTunes downloads the software for your device.
    If the download takes more than 15 minutes and your device exits recovery mode, you'll need to repeat these steps and choose Restore instead of Update when you get back to this step.
  4. After the Update or Restore completes, set up your device. If you previously backed up your device with iTunes or iCloud and had to restore your device in step 3, you might be able to restore from your backup during setup.

If it is consistently dropping the restore process around the same 15 minute mark, then it appears to be an Internet or network connectivity issue.

Please try again with a different Internet connection if you can. If not we need to troubleshoot what's going on with that one.

If you cannot try a new Internet connection at the moment please check the speed of your connection using this site and let me know the result.

Let me know the download speed, plus any more information about your network connection. Wired/wireless, service provider name, as much as you can.
