Customer: Plugging in an external mic and would like to only use external mic not the internal mics but internal mics will not shut off

To view what apps have access to the microphone:

  • Open Settings
  • Tap on Privacy
  • Tap on Microphone
  • Then toggle the setting to off on the app that you ate using the external mic.

Did not work.
It muted the internal mic but also muted the external mic.

I have an adapter that is four prong like the photo and plug mic into that

okay, there must be an issue with the adapter. The internal mic should automatically disable when it is connected.
