iphone and ipod will not sync with itunes. 5 have tried uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes no luck

Open Device Manager:Click the search box in the bottom-left corner, type Device Manager, and press enter. In the list under Universal Serial Bus Controllers, find the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver.Tell me what you see beside the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver

Yes I know Mac's do not have Device Manager exactly... Are you using the same cable and USB port for iPod and Phone?

And different cable too? Well obviously your computer is not seeing the devices so it is not installing the drivers. Go to Apple Software Update do you see any to install?
