Hi and Welcome. My Name is ***** ***** I look forward to assisting you today with your question. Yes, we offer this service. We give you instructions, so you can follow them to fix the problem. First we can run Disk Utility and see if it works or not. Turn off your Mac by holding down Power button for 10 seconds. Then turn it back on and immediately hold down Command and R keys at same time for 20 seconds and this will boot your Mac to the Mac OS X Utilities screen. From there, click Disk Utility. Select your hard disk at left column (Macintosh HD or hard disk name). Then click Verify Disk (under First Aid). If asked to repair, click Repair Disk. Then click Repair Permission. If you are using latest Mac OS X El Capitan, then you will not see Repair Disk option in Disk Utility. Instead click First Aid button and run it. Repair if asked. Then restart from Apple menu. If that didn't work, then turn it off. Turn it back on and immediately hold down Command, Option, P and R keys at the same time for 5 seconds, then release the keys and immediately hold down Shift key for 20 seconds. Does it boot into desktop ? If Yes, is it working without spinning wheel now ? Please let me know if that didn't work, so we can continue troubleshooting.

The Etrecheck report helped. I see that the performance is below average. This usually happens if there is any issue with the hard drive, either the hard drive itself is failing or the system files are corrupted. To make sure this is not a software issue, please do the steps above and let me know the results please. Then we can run some tests to check the condition of the hard drive. Also, I'd recommend to backup all your important files to an external hard drive ASAP.

I tried the 1st aid, P+R and but no results. When I tried safe mode, it seemed ok?

Hi, Only core system files will be loaded in safe mode. We're not sure whether this is physical hard drive issue or software. Lets run some tests. Lets run Disk Utility from Single User Mode. Turn your Mac off. Turn it back on and immediately hold down the Command (Apple) key and the S keys at the same time. Then type the following command when it boot into black screen with white letters... /sbin/fsck -fy (note the space between fsck and -fy) If you can't run /sbin/fsck -fy then type only fsk -fy Hit return and the disk utility should run and let it finish. When it finishes, note down and let me know the error you get. Then type reboot and hit return to restart

Volume "Untitled" is your hard disk and it returned OK. So I hope it is not failing. It could be the system files or partition of hard drive. Just restart normally and check if you are getting spinning wheel. Let me know

Your Mac is pretty powerful and being able to boot into safe mode, single user mode etc indicates that the main components like processor, logic board, RAM etc are fine. I know it is is the hard drive. But it is hard to find out whether it is software or hardware related. Before we do further troubleshooting, I want you to backup all your important files. You can boot into Safe Mode and do a backup from there. Once you backup, I want you to reinstall the OS X. If this is system files issue, then reinstalling the OS X will fix it. If that doesn't work, then I want you to erase the hard drive and do a fresh install of OS X (backup all your files before do this). I will send you instructions.

There is a easy way to test the performance of the hard drive. Open App Store and download Blackmagic Disk Speed Test --> Run the tests and let me know the Read and Write speed.

Let me know the speed test results first please. Follow the steps below to reinstall Mac OS X. Reinstalling OS X won't delete any of your files. It will just replace the corrupted system files with new one. This is to rule out OS X issue. Restart your Mac and immediately hold down Command and R keys at the same time for 15 seconds and this will boot your Mac to the Mac OS X Utilities screen. From there, click Reinstall Mac OS X. Then follow the instructions to reinstall your Mac OS X. Reinstalling the OS X may take up to 3 hours to complete. If the hard drive is failing, this process may take more time and may be interrupted in the middle. If reinstalling didn't work, then back up all your files to an external hard drive and do a clean install of OS X. Boot into OS X Utilities screen (Command and R at startup). Click Disk Utility. In Disk Utility, select your hard disk in left column. Click on Erase tab and erase it. This will delete everything from the hard disk. Close Disk Utility and click Reinstall Mac OS X. Then reinstall the OS X. Doing this step will tell us if the hard disk is failing or not.
