In order to play commercially produced dvd's (mostly movies)

in order to play commercially produced dvd's (mostly movies) on my Apple dvd player (hooked up to my Mac) I need to change the Region Designation on the player from 6 (China) to 1 (USA). a drop down menu says I can do this....but I must provide a password.
I do not have and never have had a password ***** the player...Unless I can provide one, I will be unable to play US Region (1) dvd's. please *****@******.***

When you turn your computer on, do you have to enter a password ***** order to log into your Mac or does it boot up automatically?
