I'm running iMovie 11 and reason when I insert an audio over

Customer Question

I'm running iMovie 11 and for some reason when I insert an audio over video, halfway through the audio it just goes silent. The audio file isn't corrupt b/c it works fine outside of imovie. This problem just started happening. I created another project and the same thing happened, about 1 minute in the audio just quits. Any ideas?

Hi there,

What is the specification of your Macbook?

Have you tried playing back on another Macbook?

Usually this problem is due to insufficient resources being available on the computer.

I have an iMac 10.8.5, 2.7 GHz Intel Core i5
8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3I don't have another mac to try on.

Your iMac meets the spec required for iMovie 11.

Do you have any other apps running in the background? If yes, try closing those and let me know if there is any improvement.

Also check in Activity Monitor to see what processes are running and how much CPU % they are using - send me a snapshot when the problem occurs if possible.
