Hi and Welcome. My Name is ***** ***** I look forward to assisting you today with your question.

If you just want to play them, then the best option is, get VLC Player for Mac from here -->

VLC support most of all video formats out there and can be used to play the old MOV files without converting. If you don't wish to use VLC, but wanted to convert MOV, please let me know.

Remember, this is not my final answer. If my solutions didn't work please don't rate me bad or poor. Instead please reply back to me and I will continue to help you until we fix the problem or you are satisfied.

What is the version number of your new quicktime ?

Expert:  Ashik replied 2 years ago.

I've read that If your new Quicktime using 7.3.2 or later version, then you will not be able to play the Quicktime (with flash content) as Apple has removed flash support on Quicktime 7.3.2 or later for security reasons.

You can only play flash based Quicktime on 7.3.1 or lower version of Quicktime.

What tool can I use to convert these older mov files?
Expert:  Ashik replied 2 years ago.

There are several video converters out there. The one I sent you is MPEG StreamClip which is free and should work on your OS X. Download it from here -->

Download MPEG_Streamclip 1.9.3b8 beta version from the above link. Let me know if you have any trouble installing or using it.

You can also use online video converters like

If you want professional video converter, then you can get Xilisoft video converter for Mac -->

(Try the trial version before buying). Let me know how it goes
