I had a new hard drive put in my 2009 Mac. When I shut it

Customer Question

I had a new hard drive put in my 2009 Mac. When I shut it down, it asked for my password ***** the one I had doesn't work. I've tried all my passwords, none work. How can I get it reset?

Hi, my name is ***** ***** I will do whatever I possibly can to help you with your question.

If you've forgotten your login password, you can reset it from your Recovery Partition, or your Install Disc.

It depends on which model Mac, and what OS is installed.

What operating system is installed on the new hard disk?

Was the login password ***** since the new hard disk was installed?
