This is not a cable question. This is an Iphone that has a user name and password. However, when reading and trying to respond to email I can do this . SMTP (whatever that means ) does not allow me to change my deceased husbands password ***** would allow me to use his IPhone . One example I received ; "user name or password ***** SMTP***@******.*** is incorrect. Would you please help me with this. I have been trying to accomplish this since last August. My email is :***@******.*** Thank you, ***** ***** Have a good summer!! Claire XXXX***@******.***

Hello there! My name is***** and I will be assisting you today. As long as you know the phones unlock password ***** can reset that and add your email.

Follow these steps.

  1. Plug your device into your computer with a USB cable.
  2. Turn off the device.
  3. Hold the Power button for 3 seconds.
  4. Hold the Home and Power buttons for 10 seconds.
  5. Release the Power button but keep holding the Home button.
  6. After about 15 seconds you will be alerted by iTunes saying that it has detected a device in Recovery Mode.

Make sure the device screen is blank and no logos are present

Restore with itunes. Setup as new iPhone.
