Hi out there in Just A cyber world.

A friend gave me his dead Macbook pro.

Its totally dead, no start up sounds at all and no signs of any activity.

My question is, what is the culprit, Power supply? Logic board?

I have taken these things apart and fixed them before but I want to insure I'm replacing the right part.

Thank you,

Hi Paul,

Does the orange/green light on the power adapter tip turn on when connected?

Customer: replied 3 years ago.

Hi james,

yes the chord light is orange after changing from green

This suggests that the charging circuit is actually working properly, and the culprit is none other than the main board.
Replacing the board should bring the machine back to life.

Hope this helps!
