Hello, and thanks for your question. My name is Nick and I will help you today.

We can try to change the password. Please do the following steps:

  1. Power on or restart your Mac.
  2. Immediately press and hold Command (Apple key) + S on your keyboard to enter single-user mode.
  3. At the command prompt, type mount -uw / and press Enter.
  4. Type launchctl load /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/ and press Enter.
  5. Type ls /Users and press Enter. This lists all of the usernames on the computer – helpful if you don’t know or remember what these are.
  6. Type dscl . -passwd /Users/[yourloginname] password and replace “username” with one of the users displayed in the previous step. Replace “password” with a NEW password and Press Enter.
  7. Type reboot and press Enter.
  8. Your Macbook will reboot. Try to log into your account using the NEW password.

If that does not work, please do the following method:

  1. Restart Mac.
  2. Press and hold Command + R. Release when Apple Icon shows up.
  3. Select Utilities and select Terminal.
  4. Type resetpassword and press Return.
  5. Select your user name and enter new password.
  6. Click SAVE.
  7. Restart your Mac.
  8. Enter NEW password to log into your Mac.
