I just bought a new IPAD, 4th generation. When I connect the IPAD to ITUNES, it does not appear in the left-hand bar, i.e. the device is not recognised, and therefore I cannot 'restore from ITUNES backup' which is how I believe that I can transfer what is on my existing IPAD to the new one. Please advise. Thank you, Debbie
Hello! Thank you for your question. I will be assisting you today.

I'm sorry about the issue. Do you have windows xp, vista, or 7, or Mac computer?

Do you have the latest iTunes version installed?

Please let me know. Thank you

I have windows 7. I am not sure which version of ITunes I have - how can I fins out?

In iTunes program, click on Help menu at the top, then click on About iTunes, then it will tell you. Thank you.

I have 10.6.1

That is a previous version. All you need to do is to download and install the iTunes version 11 at the website below, then the computer will recognize the new iPad:

I downloaded ITunes 11 but when a click on the itunes icon, itunes 10 still comes up

After downloading iTunes is finished, did you open the new downloaded itunes file in order for it to install?

Thank you

I get a message saying that a later version of ITunes is already installed (when it is not)

I'm sorry, that is strange. Can we do a screen sharing session, so I can check and fix this issue directly for you?

Thank you

This file does not work on my computer.

Sorry. Can you go to that website or the shorter website below in Internet Explorer (the big 'e' program icon), not Chrome or Firefox?

Thank you
