My 4th Gen iPad has lost the sound. I have checked every method I can (Settings, all volume switches, etc.) but cannot get sound back on.

First, reset your ipad by pressing and holding both the sleep and home button at the same time for 30 sec or until the apple logo appears. The sleep button is located at the upper right corner and the home button is the round button on the bottom front bezel of your iPad
