LaCie 2TB Big Disk model 301201U won't mount. Has 14 Mac partitions. Any advice, and do you have a shop near Fermont, CA where I could have it checked?

Do you need to get the data off of it or can you erase it?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

I need the data. But I need to know if the drive is busted or not, so I can think about what to do next.

Was it formatted into 14 Mac partitions on purpose?
Customer: replied 4 years ago.

Yes. It might be 13 partitions.

OK I can't imagine why you would want to do that but anyway... unplug it from power for a few minutes then plug it into the computer and restart the computer. Open Disk Utility. When Disk Utility opens you should see your hard drive on the left. Highlight your hard drive and click on Verify Disk on the far right. Let me know
