I trashed Abobe Reader for PDFpen6 (Preview had some problems)

This answer was rated:

I trashed Abobe Reader for PDFpen6 (Preview had some problems) but I still get a black browser screen when I try to view a PDF in Safari. I have an iMac with up to date software. Is it some sort of Safari Extension? Or is it an old piece of setup I can't find. Thanks very much in advance.

I am Vinod. I will try my best to help you resolve this issue.

What version of mac are you using? To find this, just click on the apple logo at the top left corner and then on "about this mac".

Thank You

Thank you, Bill.

Let's try this.

Close safari. Now, on your mac, go to /Library/Internet Plug-Ins

There, trash all files related to PDF. For example, PDF Browser Plugin.plugin, AdobePDFViewer.plugin etc

Now open safari and check whether your issue is resolved.
