I am running Acrobat Reader 11.0.01 on a Mac and cannot open pdf files in Safari: I get a black screen when I click on a link to a pdf file from any website. I have no problems opening pdf files that are already downloaded onto my computer (ie when I click on them from Finder).

This has only happened recently and I expect coincided with a me accepting a prompt to upgrade to the latest version of Acrobat Reader.
Hi, I will assist with this issue

- Open Safari browser
- In the top menu bar, click Safari
- Click the Empty button
- In the top menu bar, click Safari again
- Click Reset Safari
- Select all boxes
- Click Reset

If that does not work, please download and install Firefox browser at the website:
, then close Safari, then open Firefox, and go to websites in Firefox and see if you can open pdf files fine in Firefox.
