I have followed the instructions on the webpage you've supplied, but at step 6 - ignore the O2 message - the next screen says -
The SMPT server 'smtp.talktalk.net' is not responding.
And I do not proceed to the Accounts' page as is indicated I should.
When I ignore this by clicking OK I get a 'New Account' screen with IMAP and POP at the top with POP highlighted
Then if I proceed I get 'cannot proceed using SSL. Do you want to set up an account withour SSL? What should I do?

Does the fact that I use talktalk as my email address BUT my ISP is BT have any effect on this?
Yes - I can access my emails on the iPad via the link you provided.
Yes - via my BT Home Hub
My settings at the moment are:
Name: Trevor Brown
Email: [email protected]
Incoming Server: mail.talktalk.net
User Name: [email protected]
Outgoing Server: smpt.talktalk.net
You're quite right - I typed it wrongly. The setting is indeed set at SMTP
Still 'Can't find the server' - but I think I'll have to give up on this and try and find a solution elsewhere. Thanks for trying.
