Hi there, desperately in need of help. My Mac is basically acting like it's "wiped clean"....was working on Microsoft Word, which was being slow, then did a force quit. After I force quit, the Microsoft Word app wouldn't let me reopen it and then I restarted my computer because it was being slow and now all of my documents, pictures, applications and software are gone. HELP!!!

Please, follow the instructions below and resolve your problem:
- Turn your Mac off
- Turn your Mac on while holding the following keys: COMMAND R
- Choose to boot to the recovery HD partition
- Choose the Disk Utility option
- Click Continue
- Choose your Macintosh HD in the left pane
- Choose the verify disk option
- If the verify disk option was okay, click the Repair Permissions options.
- If the verify disk option was not okay, click the Repair Disk option
- Once it is all complete, reboot normally and verify that all is well.
