unstable wireless with new macbook air and latest lion. Latest Netgear dual channel router

Thank you for asking your question today.

The two biggest problems with Mountain Lion is wireless dropping issues and battery life drain are still unresolved by Apple. I personally don't have wireless issue, but I do have the battery life drain one. There were early reports that they were going to be fixed in the latest release, 10.8.1. 10.8.2 has already been seeded to developers, so it's possible it was addressed then, but no guarantees. 10.8.2 primarily is Facebook integration.

Does this happen on different wireless networks or just your Netgear router? I suggest trying to change the channel the router operates on.

1. Log in to your NETGEAR router by browsing to - or or or

2.Select the Wireless Settings in the main menu.

3. Change the channel and press Save.

I would try changing the channels one by one to see if wireless performance improves. At the end of this, it still might come down to an Apple update to resolve it.

I hope this helps. Please reply back if you have additional questions or concerns. If you have no additional questions please remember to rate my service before exiting the site so I can be credited for my time.
