I have a Sony HD HandyCam HDR-CX210. I upgraded my Mac os to Snow leopard as instructed, but iMovie still won't recognize the HandyCam. Advice?

Connect your camcorder to your Mac with the USB Cable. Put your camcorder to USB Mode. Open iMovie, click on File menu and select Import From Camcorder. Does that worked ?

no. the camcorder says "cannot recognize usb device." file menu does not give an option to import from camcorder.

this is the only usb cable that came with the camcorder

You can get another one and try it. It should be a MicroUSB Cable. Can you get another one ?
