Hi ... I just uploaded the new iphoto - and am trying to get it to recognize my iphone. It doesnt show up -- in fact, there's no "Devices" list AT ALL. I am not very compurter savvy - and I am very frustrated. The iphone doesnt exist, as far as iphoto is concerned1
PLEASE HELP! I need to email a bunch of photos to my daughter, and I have just blown have a Sunday on this mess.

use the port on the mac , rather than the keyboard etc .

I did do that, from the beginning. iTunes recognizes my phone.

then launch itunes

if itunes sees the phone , you can click on the phone in the device list

also please try taking one more photo on the phone , and then repeat the above..

Quit all apps .

Reboot and then launch iPhoto and test .

If your using Lion , Use Finder Go menu , Got to folder - to get to the folder . Paste : ~/Library/Preferences/ , hit Enter .

i went to import and it imported all the same photos, so i just took another pic

a plist is a preference file .

iPhoto may have a problem with the plist .

when you trash a plist , after launching the app , the plist is remade new .

it will prove the plist is renewed and thus working .

A safe boot can help fix any Mac HD errors,

Turn off the Mac .

Power on the Mac .

Hold shift on the keyboard using a "USB keyboard or for laptops use the built in keyboard ,
while powering on the Mac just after the chime and starting up keep holding the Shift key , this should boot to safe mode.

Once booted to safe mode , restart and boot as normal .

There are TWO iphoto plists -- one says K file
