my mac won't come on and when it does it's a blue screen with a question mark, how do I get past this?
Welcome, and thank you for your question.

Select your Mac OS X startup disk with Startup Manager by restarting and holding the Option key. After your Mac starts up, restart again to verify that the flashing question mark does not appear.

it continually does this it seems to always freeze after you end a session or sometimes during the session. what is causing this to happen?
From what you've told me so far, it sounds as if the hard drive is going bad. How long has it been doing this?

I would like for you to lock the startup disk in Startup Manager. Go to System Preferences > Startup Disk > select your hard drive, most likely, "Macintosh HD". Afterwards, press the lock in lower lefthand corner to lock the settings.
