Customer Question

I just bought the iPhone 3GS from a previous owner on I have had the phone for about 3 days now and haven't had problems with it until this afternoon. So I restored the phone back to its previous settings and now it won't activate. It says there is no SIM card in it and there is. I can use the SIM card in my old phone..but the iPhone is not doing anything.

try to update your itunes to the latest version.

then restore you iphone again with recovery mode.

1.Attach the phone to the pc
2.Turn the phone off
3.Press and hold power. Keep holding power. As soon as you see display on the screen of any sort press and hold home button.
4.Hold power and home together for *exactly* 10 seconds
5.Release power but keep holding home until the pc beeps as a USB device is recognized.
6.At no point will the display come on. Now your restore should work.

after that open itunes on your computer, if you did the above steps correct,
itunes will stated that your iphone is in recovery mode and asked if you want to restore. click yes to restore.

let me know if that workout for you. thanks
