i have an ipod and it will not shuffle. it keeps playing the same song. if i go back to the menu and choose another song, it will play that song over and over. help!

Sounds like the Repeat option is turned. In the Music Player window, you can see the repeat button. Just change it or turn it off.
To set iPod nano to repeat songs:

Choose Settings from the iPod nano main menu.
  • To repeat all songs in the list, set Repeat to All.
  • To repeat one song over and over, set Repeat to One.graphic
