An iCloud user name and pass word is the same as any other Apple ID account and can be modified in much the same way.

You should be able to reset your pass word at the site: http://iforgot.apple.com/

* IF YOU FORGOT THE APPLE ID ITSELF: If you go to http://iforgot.apple.com/ you will see an option on the right side of the page labeled "Forgot your Apple ID?". If you click this, it will ask for some rather simple information that you should know as the owner of the account ( first name, last name, current email address plus the ability to enter additional email addresses if it has changed since you created the Apple ID).

If you know you ID and have successfully reset your pass word and still can not log in, you may have another issue.

Try signing in to the following site and see if the account is at least still active (Choose "Manage your Account"): https://appleid.apple.com/

In the case that no sign in is possible after doing all the above, you will have to contact Apple via their Express Lane customer service feature to ask them to investigate the reason for your disabled account:

https://expresslane.apple.com/

Choose the correct category and issue as prompted by the service above and you will eventually reach a web form where Apple promises to respond within 24 hours.

Forgot my iCloud password explained

A forgotten iCloud password can be stressful, especially when you have a lot of important information stored there. Luckily, the process for recovering a lost Apple password is straightforward.

Resetting a forgotten iCloud password

You should be able to reset your password, so long as you know your Apple ID. This is the email address associated with your Apple account, which you’d use for logging into your Apple devices as well as programs like iTunes.

  1. Go to this link (iforgot.apple.com) and enter your Apple ID. If you forgot your Apple ID, you can find retrieval steps here.
  2. Type in the sequence provided by the CAPTCHA to prove you’re not a bot.
  3. Select “I need to reset my password.
  4. You can then choose to receive an email with password reset instructions, or you could elect to answer security questions instead.
  5. If you choose email, you should soon see a message from Apple in your inbox with the title: “How to reset your Apple ID password.
  6. Click on the Reset link in the email, and you’ll be taken to the appropriate section on iforgot.apple.com.
  7. Enter and confirm your new password, and then click on Reset password.
  8. This password can be used to log into iTunes, your Apple account and iCloud. Be sure to write it down and keep it safe.
