Hi my name is David.

It could be a hardware issue, but there are things that can be tried.

When you restored it, did you also get the latest software for the iPod?

What type of iPod is it? What capacity hard drive is in it?

Thanks in advance.

Kind regards,
David.

I did download the latest software. It's an 80 G version, black in color. I'm not sure what version it is, not one of the first models...maybe a version IV?...al.

Hi,

You should try iPod disk mode, and on a different computer if you can.

Put the iPod in Disk Mode as per these instructions, and then restore to factory settings.

Let me know how that goes.

Kind regards,
David.

I did successfully complete the Disc Mode process....no luck....still no audio. When the audio went out, I was listening to it, and it slowly fizzled out...

Hi,

It looks like there is a hardware issue with the iPod, but you should try restore on another computer to see if it is a problem with the firmware in the restore on your current computer. If it's the same, then it is a hardware issue I'm afraid.

Kind regards,
David.
