VerifiedHello! My name is XXXXX XXXXX self-employed tech, and I'm offering my time in good faith today to assist you on this question.
If the apps are asking for your former spouse's Apple ID then it means they were, at some point, purchased via his account on the phone OR installed to the phone from an iTunes Store account on a computer that was logged in with his ID.
iOS devices can use apps from multiple ID's but they will always be owned by those ID's and so that is why it would ask for that password.
If your own Apple ID is correctly set on the iPhone in Settings > Store, do you see these apps listed in your Purchase History? Go to the Store app and select Purchased from the icon bar at the bottom.
If you *do* seem them listed, simply delete them from the iPhone and re-download them under your own ID.
