i have my imac set to go to sleep the other day I thought that

i have my imac set to go to sleep the other day I thought that my wife had shut it down so i just restarted with the button in the back. Last night it just went to sleep and I can't wake it it is dead.
this is an older imac maybe 4 years but I have stuff I need to get off of it ecven if i cant fix it hopefully it will just be an easy fix.

You can reset the Power Management Unit of your iMac and see if that works or not. Follow the instructions in here :

the site u sent me did not show my imac i dont have round bottom i have flat stand so i dont know where the reset is on my imac it just might be a G5 it is dead so i can't tell you

I wrote yesterday saying that it was working well i went for a walk and its dead i need to open it i looked on the base and it is a G5

I didn't get your last response...You can reset the SMU of your Mac.
  1. Turn off the computer
  2. Unplug all cables from the computer, including the power cord.
  3. Wait 10 seconds.
  4. Plug in the power cord while simultaneously pressing and holding the power button on the back of the computer.
  5. Let go of the power button.
  6. Press the power button once more to start up your iMac.
