Hello,

I'm using an iMac (OS X Version 10.5.8) and I'm having a fairly recent problem with my desktop calculator.

Everytime I begin to make a calculation it automatically opens a Safari page with the following link:

https://googleads.g.doubleclick.net/pagead/drt/si?p=CAA&ut=AFAKxlQAAAAATlvuWNWxldI_pJNmeNoBbpJ1-vKMABnN

Nothing happens - it remains blank screen - but it's annoying. Any idea how I can stop this?

Sincerely,

Fred

Is that your normal calculator or the adsense calculator?
Ask Your Own Mac Question
Customer reply replied 7 years ago
I'm assuming it's the normal calculator - the one that comes up with the clock, calender and weather forecast when you click the scroll button in the middle of the mouse. Not sure what the adsense calculator is.

Mac Support Specialist: Mike, Mac Medic replied 7 years ago
Do you mean the Dashboard widget or the Calculator app in Applications?
Ask Your Own Mac Question
Customer reply replied 7 years ago
The Dashboard widget (the one that appears with a calculator, clock, calendar and local forecast.
Mac Support Specialist: Mike, Mac Medic replied 7 years ago
Ok remove it from the Dashboard then add it back again.

I spoke too soon. Unfortunately the problem with my calculator opening a "googleadclick" page persists ... at least once in the past hour. Not sure why this is happening.
Mac Support Specialist: Mike, Mac Medic replied 7 years ago
Do you have any google dashboard widgets? Get rid of them.

What Customers are Saying:

Hi John, Thank you for your expertise and, more important, for your kindness because they make me, almost, look forward to my next computer problem. After the next problem comes, I'll be delighted to correspond again with you. I'm told that I excel at programing. But system administration has never been one of my talents. So it's great to have an expert to rely on when the computer decides to stump me. God bless, Bill
