I will suggest that first we try a DFU restore on your iPod.
Open iTunes and plug up your iPod to your computer.
Toggle the Hold switch on and off (switch it to Hold, then to off).
Press and hold the Menu
(top button on wheel) and the Select
button (middle button). Continue to hold them until iTunes tells you that your device is in recovery mode.
Once you get the message, release the buttons on your iPod, then from your PC, go to the Restore
button in iTunes.
iTunes should do the rest.
From here, you will need to resync all your music.
If iTunes never prompts you with the recovery mode message or
the restore still fails, either you will need try this method on another computer or your iPod is defective and needs to be replaced.
Alternatively, you can find your nearest Apple Store Genius Bar
and have them check it out.
