You will need to factory restore your iPod Classic.

*You will lose all data and files on the iPod Classic.*

With your iPod Classic plugged in to your computer, open iTunes on your computer, then press and hold down both the Menu and Center buttons until iTunes (on your computer) prompts you about your iPod being in recovery mode.

Press the Restore button to push the latest firmware to your iPod Classic.

Once this is complete, remove your iPod from your computer and verify that it is accessible.

From there, hook it back up to your computer and resync your music/files back to the device.
