The box for entering URLs suddenly disappeared from the top

This answer was rated:

The box for entering URLs suddenly disappeared from the top of my online pages. I can surf the web okay, but only by using Google or Yahoo or etc., and then clicking on the URLs they generate on their pages. How can I put the blank URL box back at the top of my screen?

Thanks so much for your help.

Open Safari, click the View Menu and choose "Customize Toolbar". From the window, you can see the URL/Addressbar and other buttons, drag the URL/Address field out of that window onto the toolbar above it.
