the hinge on my macbook air broke and now i can't charge the battery. it's almost dead. help!

There are known issues with MacBook Air hinges and in many cases Apple will fix broken hinges for free, even if the computer is out of warranty. In order to investigate this option, you need to take your computer to an Apple retail store or authorized service provider for evaluation. Unfortunately, there's nothing that we can do in the meantime to make it charge if the hardware is damaged.
