Resolved Question:

i'm trying to switch all my ipod music to a new computer. i just installed itunes and its asking if i want to "erase and sync" or "transfer purchases". if i select transfer purchases, will it only transfer the songs i purchased on itunes? a lot of the music on my ipod is from cds and such.

That's what it means. Music can only be legally transferred from your iPod if you purchased it from the iTunes store. To get the rest of it, you'll need to use a program like SharePod, which will transfer all the music from your iPod, to your computer.

Hope that helps, let me know if you have additional questions regarding the issue.
