You can go to the edit menu and select cut, copy or paste, or you can use the keyboard short cuts cmd-x, cmd-c or cmd-v. Hold down the command key (that's the one next to the space bar with a little propeller shape on it, sometimes called and marked with an apple) and press the appropriate key.
