Boot to your original CD by inserting the CD and holding down the C key while turning the machine on.

From there you need only follow the prompts.

i tryed that and it didn't come with a bootdisk it was bought as a open box from bestbuy so what else can i do to restore back to factory settings. i bought a new mac and would like to sell the old macbook it has Leopard installed and its ready for a new owner be would like to restore it

Best bet is to selectively delete the programs you installed.
Delete all contents of Pictures, Music & Documents folders
Delete all mail then delete the mail accounts.
Delete any folders YOU have created.

That should cover it.
