I was downloading an update for OS 10. and during the update

Resolved Question:

I was downloading an update for OS 10.   and during the update the scren turned white. I turned off the computer and I still have a white screen. Help

The update, if it was still installing, has left the Mac in an usuable state. Turning it off and on again will not fix this.

What you will need to do is to re-install the software that the Mac came with, including the optional Install for the additional Applications and start over.
