sounds like a paper jam and there may be a small piece of paper still in there.

Or, it could be a sensor has broken or failed and it thinks no paper is being transported.

Which specific printer is this? Make Model?

Customer: replied 8 years ago.
It actually seems to be a problem printing from the computer to the printer. When I press print nothing happens. I can photocopy so the printer is working so the problem seems to be getting the message from the computer to the printer The printer is Canon pixmaMX300 and I have a Mac laptop. Thanks

I am confused then because your original question stated -
"...putting paper in the tray(loading) press ok and then press copy it starts but then stops alarm signal comes on..."

So is that error on the Mac? or is the error on the printer?

If the copy is stopped by the error, are you trying it from the Printer or the Mac?

I just need to clarify that before we go on.

The error seems to originate from the Mac, as the printer works when I photocopied something. The problem is when I try to print something from my computer.

Let's look at the Printer icon in yourDock.

Click on that and then tell me what it says in that window.

Here is a pic of mine printing to my Pixma:

See if it says anything about being stopped or paused.
