I have a Xerox PE 220 connected to an IMAC. I am trying to scan a photo on the flat bed. Mac's ImageCapture works for fed through documents but on the flatbed option, the "scan now" button is grayed out and nothing changes that. What am I doing wrong?

Do I need some other type of scan control software or can I do this through PhotoShop CS4?

You might just have to click in the preview window and drag out a square to tell it where to scan from. Also try the Application Preview to see if this works better.

In order to scan from Photoshop CS4 you will need to download the scanner driver from Xerox. Here is the link
