i cannot open a csv file completely it stops at 65,000, i am on a mac - how do i get the whole thing

You're right 65000 is the maximum number of rows that Excel has. The CSV is just a text file and it could be read with any work processor. If you really need it in Excel you could split the file with a word processor.
